2.Market demand and forecast
Sodium methanemercaptan is the basic chemical raw materials, at present, China is the world's largest production base, the production of sodium methanemercaptan is mainly concentrated near Shandong, but the southern market is China's largest use area, many enterprises to sodium methanemercaptan as raw materials synthetic finished products, semi-finished products, and then exported to foreign countries。At present, the national production is about 35,000 tons/year, and as its use becomes more and more extensive, the production and demand for sodium methylmercaptan will steadily increase。Global demand for sodium methymercaptan is expected to grow by 8.5 percent growth rate。
3.Production plan and scale
3.1 Production process overview
At present, the main production process of sodium methanethiol at home and abroad is the reaction of methyl mercaptan and sodium hydroxide to produce sodium methanethiol, which is divided into dimethyl sulfate - sodium hydrogen sulfide method and methanol-hydrogen sulfide method according to the different raw materials used。
Methyl mercaptan is produced by the reaction of dimethyl sulfate and sodium hydrosulfide,Then it is absorbed by alkali to produce sodium methylmercaptan,The reaction is carried out under atmospheric pressure,This method has wide source of raw materials, high yield, good purity and no special requirements for production equipment,It is the most mature process technology route used in China at present。However, this process route produces a large amount of mirabilite wastewater, which is difficult to treat and does great harm to the environment。
Methanol-hydrogen sulfide method uses methanol and hydrogen sulfide, the raw material is preheated and synthesized to produce methylmercaptan, and then alkali absorption to produce sodium methylmercaptan. This method has advanced technology, mild reaction conditions, low production cost, and the process is safe, stable and reliable。The amount of waste water produced is small, and can be discharged according to the standard after treatment。
3.2. Selection of process scheme
This project adopts the methanol hydrogen sulfide process. First, methyl mercaptan is synthesized by methanol and hydrogen sulfide, and then methyl mercaptan is absorbed by alkali to produce sodium methyl mercaptan. This method is the proprietary technology of our institute。
